The X Factor: Cheryl Has A Blast From The Past
The rendition of a musical classic by a returning contestant has Cheryl in tears...
The Crazy Stupid Love singer is bought to tears when Amy Connolly returns to the show for another try at an audition.
Connolly previously auditioned in 2008 where she shared an emotional connection with Cheryl, opening up about her mother's death.
Continuing through to judge's houses, Connolly then froze during her performance and failed to make it through to the next round, though Cheryl hoped to see her again.
Now back in this year's competition, Connolly admits she's decided to return all because of Chezza's appearance on the show.
"I made a connection with her more than any other judge," she says. "I want to show I'm better, stronger, older, wiser - I could go all the way."
Not only does she look a whole lot different, Connolly is now engaged with children and surprises Cheryl as she appears at the auditions, prompting her to say: "That's a blast from the past!"
"That was like a flashback," the newly-married judge says. "There's something you do to me - we have a connection. I'm so proud of you - you stood with confidence and poise and delivered beautifully. I'm so glad to see you."
The X Factor is back tonight (August 30) and tomorrow at 8pm on ITV.
