The X Factor Confirms Goldie Cheung Has Quit
In a statement, the 48-year old claimed she would miss her family too much...
Gary Barlow following a rather eccentric performance at Louis Walsh's Judges House - said in a statement: "I have decided to withdraw from the competition because I knew I would miss my family so much. I wish all the finalists the best of luck and look forward to watching them every week."
She added: "The X Factor has been a fantastic experience and very challenging for me at times. I was very grateful to Louis for offering me a place in the final, however."
Her mentor Louis has also admitted: "It was such a shame Goldie had to pull out of the competition, I thought she had great potential to entertain viewers in the live shows. But it has given someone else an amazing opportunity and although it was a hard decision of who to replace her with, I am pleased with my choice."
It was originally thought that Goldie had decided to quit the show on the advice of her husband, David Webb, who feared she could end up as this year's "joke act."
It is currently unknown who will replace Cheung, with The X Factor website stating fans will have to wait until Judges' Houses this weekend to find out who makes it through to the live shows instead.
