The X Factor Is About to Go Through Some Major Changes People

Will these help guide the show back to its former prominence?

A new season of the X Factor is upon us and Simon Cowell is promising a huge overhaul! It will NOT be the same show.

Yes that's right - in a bid to return the show to its former glory, the talent show mogul is going to change things up.

Of course Simon says this every season but looking at the modifications, something different really is in store for us.

The Syco founder decided to let slip the news via Good Morning Britain today.

Here's what we can expect to change on Season 14 of the TV talent show:

1. Less live shows

Yes. That's right. In a bid to keep us hooked to the X Factor all season long, Simon will be cutting down the length of its live shows. Usually we have 10 weeks of watching the X Factor finalists battle it out but this year we will just have six of them.

2. More eliminations

With the amount of live showsreducing, it's no surprise that eliminations will be more regular. They will take place on Saturday AND Sunday nights - keeping us on our toes and making it more important than ever to vote for our favourite competitors.

3. Live bootcamp

To test contestants right from the start, this year's bootcamp will be held in front of a live studio audience. Expect the stakes to be higher than ever as acts are mustprove whether or not they can handle the pressure of an audience early on in the show.

4. Thorpe Park auditions

Yes. Simon has decided to take The X Factor to a theme park this year. We're not really sure why this is happening but we think that the setting will make for great TV. Just the thought of Louis Walsh on a rollercoaster is making us laugh already.

5. No novelty acts

Novelty acts always provide controversy on the show. Some people love the humour that they bring to table, others think that they unfairly take up the places of talented singers. We hope that this choice will let actswith proper popstar potential shine.

So there we have it. Fingers crossed that the changes will help the show lift its ratings from last year's lows of 6.38 million.

As for the judgingline-up, Simon and Louis have returned along with favouitesSharon Osborne and Nicole Scherzinger.

And Dermot O'Leary is back to host the show. Fingers crossed that another Little Mix is waiting to be discovered!
