The X Factor Is Going To Return With One Massive New Format Change This Year
Get ready for a whole new show
If you think The X Factor is a little tired after 13 years on the air – you’ll be excited to hear the format is getting a shake up for 2017!
It seems the show is taking inspiration from Britain’s Got Talent to inject a bit more excitement into the long running ITV show.
Instead of week after week of live shows, this year will see contestants knocked out every day during ONE WEEK of live shows – culminating in a huge live final.
Producers of the show thinks it’s just the kind of make-over that The X Factor needs.
“The X Factor executives feel it needs a shake-up with big changes to the format,” a source told The Sun.
“They have been discussing having just a few weeks of live shows — so people get to know the singers — and then one big finals week,” the source teased.
Put the headlights on
Snow and rain, wiped away
I can't keep my eyes on the road
When I'm driving home
I got tears running down, burning in my eyes
And you & I, heated by the flicker of a lighter
Oh, and I let it go
But I just got here
I know it's been a while darling, dear
There's been a change in the time of year
When the frost bites the snow
And Christmas comes around
For the down and outs
And broken lay-abouts
What will they do now?
When the Christmas comes around
We were so in love
Till I messed it up
But who will love me now?
When Christmas comes around
Family asking me why I let you go
Telling me it's a mistake
I'm telling them that I know
But I can't call you
Your inner space, better place
Loving on a new man
I don't blame you at all
You did all that you can, I know
But I just got here
I know it's been a while darling, dear
There's been a change in the time of year
When the frost bites the snow
And Christmas comes around
For the down and outs
And broken lay-abouts
What will they do now?
When Christmas comes around
We were so in love
Till I messed it up
But who will love me now?
When Christmas comes around
And I'm sick of all the songs
The Christmas sing alongs
The merry and the cheer
Cause I don't feel like that this year
All the bells are all the same
And my soul is on the brink
So I'll help myself a drink
And sing
When Christmas comes around
For the down and outs
And broken lay-abouts
What will they do now?
When Christmas comes around
We were so in love
Till I messed it up
But who will love me now?
When Christmas comes around
Who will love me now?
When Christmas comes around
“They think viewers would prefer one week of great TV, with star performers. BGT is a huge success, so they could take inspiration from worse places.”
The X Factor has suffered a ratings slump ever since it’s peak in 2009 when almost 20 million tuned in for the Series 6 final.
Conversely, the 2016 live final which saw Matt Terry crowned X Factor king pulled in just 7 million.
Britain’s Got Talent meanwhile continues to enjoy strong ratings year after year – with the talent show due to return to ITV this spring.
