The X Factor vs American Idol - Lawsuit Over
Simon Fuller reported to have ended legal battle with Simon Cowell's rival show...
The long-running legal battle between Simon Fuller of American Idolfame and The X Factor is over.
Fuller, the pop mastermind behind the Spice Girls, sued Fox Broadcasting in July 2011 - claiming he was owed an executive producer credit and payment.
The Hollywood Reporter claims that the case has now been dismissed after papers were filed in a Los Angeles court.
The dispute is claimed to have stemmed from a deal between Fuller's Idol team and its Simon Cowell-led rival, which had seen the launch of The X Factor held back in the US - with SiCo staying on the Idol panel.
Fuller had claimed that Fremantle North America, which produces both shows, had refused to give him the credit and fee which he was entitled to under the deal.
Although a settlement now appears to have been reached, no details have been made public.
