The X Factor's GMD3 In Name Change Plea
Boy band beg viewers for suggestions for a new moniker...
The X Factor hopefuls GMD3 are keen to ditch their name for something more exciting - and they are asking the public for suggestions.
The boyband is currently named after the initials of Greg West, Mickey Parsons and Dan Ferrari-Lane - with the digit 3 simply because they are a threesome.
But since Sharon Osbourne told them the name made them sound like a virus, they have desperately been trying to think of something better.
According to The Mirror, Dan said: "We've been dying to change our name for ages.
"We have three days to come up with a new name so the pressure is on. We'd really love our fans and Twitter followers to help us out by sending in their ideas for names. If there's a suggestion we like, we'll use it."
The boys are asking for suggestions to be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org, with the closing date being tomorrow.
It looks as though their new name will be revealed on the show this weekend.
In other X Factor news, it has been reported that show bosses have ordered that mini-bars be removed from the contestants hotel rooms, following a string of drunken incidents.
A show source told The Sun: "The contestants have been spoiled with their accommodation and are being waited on hand and foot — but bosses can't foot the bar bill, especially if they're going to sink the amount of booze they're clearly capable of."
