The X Factor's GMD3 Reveal Their New Name
Boy band decided to change moniker after Sharon Osbourne's joke...
The X Factor boy band GMD3 have revealed their new name to the world: District 3.
Dan Ferrari-Lane, Greg West and Nicky Parsons had asked fans to email suggestions for a new name after Sharon Osbourne joked that their old moniker sounded like a virus.
But their mentor Louis Walsh stressed that the new name had yet to be finalised, telling The Sun: "GMD3's new name? I think it will be District 3. District 3 we are hoping to clear. But it’s not 100 per cent."
And band member Nicky added: "There were quite a few good suggestions — and loads of joke ones: Greg and His Sausage Rolls. Threesome, Threeway. Louis' Little Boys."
Louis was upbeat when discussing his acts during an appearance on Daybreak.
He said: "I think the three acts could be a hit anywhere in the world. MK1, we've never had an urban act like them on the show before, I love Charlie's voice.
"The two boybands - I mean, everyone thinks they're similar, but they're not. They're very different, in a quite current way."
Louis' other act is boy band Union J.
We told you earlier how Katie Price had pledged her support for Rylan Clark on Daybreak.
