Jaymi Hensley has described the “really amazing” support he has received since coming out as gay.
The Union J member came out publicly about his sexuality following advice from The X Factor judge Louis Walsh, who mentors the boyband on the show.
Speaking to The Sun, the talent show hopeful said the viewers’ reaction to the news had been “amazing”.
He told the tabloid: "I have not seen one negative comment. I want to say a massive thank you for people's support. It has been incredible.
"I have already had messages from young gay guys saying, 'Thank you so much, I can look up to you', and that's what I did it for."
Jaymi, who is in a three-year relationship with 21-year-old hairdresser Olly Marmon, also revealed that he has been "overwhelmed" by positive messages from fans.
"Olly has got loads of messages. I always knew people would find him but he is totally overwhelmed with the support," he said. "It's really uplifting."
