Vloggers In The Frame For Xtra Factor Job
With Sarah-Jane Crawford on her way out from The Xtra Factor after just a year, it seems telly bosses are looking for ways to connect with a younger audience.
The Sun reports that talent scouts have taken to scouring the web - and that a selection of top vloggers have been screen-tested for the high-profile job.
Joe Sugg, Rose and Rosie and Jim Chapman are among the YouTube stars who have been tapped up to try out for the companion show to The X Factor.
But they are up against some familiar faces in the form of Big Brother winner (and ex-host) Brian Dowling, former X Factor duo Sam and Mark and This Morning's Matt Johnson.
And other names in the frame apparently include Eoghan McDermott, Kiss FM's Melvin and Ricky and MTV's own Will Best.
A mole told the paper: "It's vital to them that the show is in safe hands, so having pros like Brian or Sam and Mark on board is appealing.
"But they are also keen to attract a younger audience, and wanted to see how the cool young vloggers would come across on screen.
"They think hiring Jim, Joe or Rose and Rosie could appeal to the young audience. It's wide open at the moment and they could even test more potential presenters in the coming weeks."
Watch this space. And maybe YouTube as well.
