X Factor Ella: 'Tulisa Blames Herself For My Exit'
Mentor thinks she could have done more to persuade viewers...
Ella, 16, has told The Mirror that Tulisa reckons she should have made more effort to tell the public to vote for her.
She said: "She was just absolutely gutted for me and I think she felt like she was to blame.
"She said we should have reminded people more of how important it is to vote and how you can't assume you're going to make your way to the final.
"I was telling her, 'Please don't feel that way at all. You've done absolutely everything you could and stuck by me from day one'.
"She's not just helped me build as a performer but as a person, she's really driven me and brought a confidence out that I never used to have.
"I think I was her last remaining girl and she threw everything she had into me. When they lose their final act it's not a nice feeling for them. It wouldn't be nice for any of the judges. She did everything she could, I think she felt bad on my behalf. She didn't want me to think I'd done anything wrong.
"I definitely have got a close friendship there for life."
And she told Digital Spy in another interview that she was relieved to be out of the competition and able to focus on her music again.
"I feel like a weight's just been lifted and thrown out the window, that's how I feel coming away from the show.
"Now I know that I'm going to be doing what I want to do. I'm gonna get back in the studio, I want to be with my piano again, do my songwriting. Hopefully I'll be able to write an album next year."
