Tulisa Contostavlos is apparently being investigated by Ofcom after complaints that her signature arm gesture is advertising her perfume.
The 23-year old, who starts every live show by holding up her arm to reveal her tattoo which reads The Female Boss - which is also the name of her scent - could be banned from making the gesture over fears it promotes her fragrance.
Ofcom is said to have received a number of complaints stating that by showing off her ink, Tulisa is breaking rules that govern the promotion or reference of commercial products by on-screen talent.
According to The Guardian, the media regulator will also investigate a section on ITV2 show, The Xtra Factor, which referred to The Female Boss and discussed the N-Dubz star's arm signal.
During their investigation, Ofcom will decide whether Contostavlos' tattoo is clear to see and whether it's in breach of broadcasting rules. If they conclude it is, Tulisa will be banned from making the gesture on further episodes of The X Factor.
It seems Tulisa may have to resort to using Cheryl Cole's trusty salute instead...
