X Factor's Hannah Barrett Reveals Racist Abuse
Hopeful says she's been put down because of dark skin on Twitter...
The X Factor contestant Hannah Barrett has revealed that she has been subjected to racist abuse over the internet.
Speaking to Reveal, the 17-year-old said that Twitter users had been putting her down because of the colour of her skin - but insisted she is determined not to let it get to her.
"I've received a lot of horrible, racist comments on Twitter," she explained.
"People say I'm too dark to be a singer. People say, 'You're black and ugly', nasty things like that.
"The sad thing is most of them are made by black people who just have lighter skin than me.
"I'm just like, 'Whatever'. I know they are talking rubbish."
And she also claimed that she's savouring every moment of the contest.
"This time last year I was working in Greggs... now I'm living in a £5m house with amazing people, going to photoshoots and interviews and singing at the weekend."
Hannah is interviewed alongside Tamera Foster and Sam Bailey in the latest edition of the magazine.
Rival singer Luke Friend has been given a makeover by another mag this week.
