Axed contestant denies tabloid tales that he was 'intimidating' in the contestant house, thanking mentor Simon Cowell for nipping the reports in the bud...
X Factor's latest casualty Jay James has rubbished reports that he was a 'bully' in the contestant house.
When asked about the accusations, the 31-year old stated: "That's just bulls**t. It upset me yesterday because I am a people person.
"I love people and I did kind of take on the father role in the house in trying to pick people up and energise people.
"So to hear something like that was bulls**t, and I know a few of the other contestants heard it as well and they were like, 'What the... ?' So, whatever, it comes with the territory of being on a show like that."
Jay went on to add that he didn't feel like to negative reports had hindered his chances, stating he was "grateful" to his mentor SiCo for slamming the rumours on the Sunday's results show.
He claimed: "I didn't know that he was going to do that or indeed if he knew, so for him to do that and nip it in the bud, I was really thankful."
James concluded that he now hopes to hit the studio and make a record, saying: "I think this has given me a real motivation and inspiration to get in there, as well as all the people that were voting and have supported me along this journey.
"I want to do that for them now and show what I can really do; I can write, I can produce, I can show them what I'm made of. So it's back to that really."
He added: "The work continues now from The X Factor in hopefully putting together the best possible record I can and then to see Simon and say, 'What do you think? Is there something we can do?'
"So I know that he's really really supportive and he said to me last night that he sees a really, really bright future. So I'm excited about that, it's nice to have that confidence."
