According to the News of the World, police pulled over the car that Cardle was driving and arrested him and his passengers on suspicion of having illegal drugs on their possession.
This year's XF has been tainted with scandals including Gamu-gate, Matt's rumoured affair with Waissel and Cher Lloyd's suspected relationships with One Direction's Liam Payne, Harry Styles and now, Zain Malik.
An XF source has since told The Mirror that the house where the contestants live has become a 'war zone' after the conflict between this year's finalists reached boiling point over the last few weeks.
The insider claimed: "The house is like a war zone. There is in-fighting among the contestants and they are making enemies of the neighbours, too. ”
“None of them are really good friends. There are very diverse personalities and it is getting competitive, so sparks are starting to fly."

They added: "It is the worse year for in-fighting. It like a battlefield sometimes.”
