Microsoft Unveils IllumiRoom System

Microsoft has unveiled a pioneering new display system which projects images onto the walls of a room as a game is played.
Called IllumiRoom, the system is showcased in a new video released by the computer giant - showing how it can extend the atmosphere of a game or create a sensation of motion.
And the company claims that all the effects shown in the video were captured in real time, with no post-production work to spiff them up.
Microsoft filed a patent last year that appeared to be connected to the new technology - which hinted that it could also be integrated with a rumoured pair of 3D Kinect glasses.
The next-gen Xbox console is [uuid=85268f01-5ed7-4fec-84ba-18956887f175]expected to be revealed[/uuid] at the giant E3 games expo in June.
