Smaller Xbox To Be Unveiled This Month?
The 'Xbox One Slim' might be coming VERY SOON.
The rumour mill is spinning up to full speed as we near the gaming event of the year. According to sources of Kotaku we can expect a new smaller Xbox One Slim, possibly complete with bigger 2TB hard drive, to be announced.
The second, more advanced model, allegedly should follow in 2017. This will apparently feature a beefed up graphics processor unit that is capable of supporting the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset. That should mean full VR gaming will work on the console. This makes sense since Sony will be leading the way with its own VR headset already shown off for the PS4.
The source that revealed all this also claims Microsoft is going to be more like Apple with its console releases. That should mean an update to the hardware will appear on a yearly basis, rather than a big console jump every five years or so.
E3 starts on 14 June but the Xbox briefing event is on 13 June so expect to hear the official line on this from then.
