This Is The New Xbox One S: Everything You Need To Know

Say hello to the slimmer, faster 4K Xbox.

E3, the biggest games event of the year has barely started and already there's a new console. Microsoft has taken the wraps off its new Xbox One S, which is finally official.

The Xbox One S will shrink to 60 per cent of the previous Xbox One's size. The new unit has machined holes for cooling, a built-in power brick and can stand upright. It also comes with a 2TB hard drive and supports playback of 4K video and ‘true 4K gaming’.

The gorgeous white colour is dubbed ‘robot white’ by Microsoft, and has done away with the power supply that made the previous consoles so big. In fact, this is Microsoft’s smallest Xbox ever.

More good news: the new console will be compatible with all your existing Xbox One accessories. No having to buy new bits if you want to upgrade.

When it’s released in early August, the 2TB model will be available in the US for $399. Two standard versions will be available soon after: a 500GB edition for $299, and 1TB for $349.
