X-Men: Apocalypse Gets First Teaser
Mockumentary film sets the scene for 2016 movie sequel...
There might be the best part of two years to go until X-Men: Apocalypse hits the big screen, but 20th Century Fox has already set the publicity ball rolling.
The studio has released a promo clip which appears to contain several pointers as to the content of the next instalment of the Marvel Comics franchise.
The "viral video" takes the form of a mock news piece about a sinkhole crater found in Siberia and an earthquake hitting Washington DC.
A scientist then discusses genetic mutation, as do more talking heads - before the action cuts to Bolivian children playing football, with one of them displaying mutant powers as he heads the ball.
The promo closes with another talking head voicing his fears over the emergence of "homo sapiens superior".
The film is set for release in May 2016. Writer-producer Simon Kinberg has been discussing the possibility of re-casting key roles, such as Halle Berry's Storm.
