Anna Paquin Cut From X-Men Movie Sequel
Rogue sequence fails to make the final cut, director reveals...
Anna Paquin - one of the original stars of the X-Men movies - has been cut from the upcoming sequel Days Of Future Past.
According to director Bryan Singer, the True Blood star had filmed a short sequence as Rogue for the latest Marvel movie, but the scene hasn't made it into the final film.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the helmsman explained: "Through the editing process, the sequence became extraneous. It's a really good sequence and it will probably end up on the DVD so people can see it.
"But like many things in the editing process, it was an embarrassment of riches and it was just one of the things that had to go. Unfortunately, it was the one and only sequence Anna Paquin was in, the Rogue character was in."
Despite the fact that Paquin's scene didn't make the final cut, Singer insisted she was "awesome in the sequence" and said as a "very professional" actress, "She completely understood."
X-Men: Days Of Future Past will see the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Halle Berry as Storm, alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, and Michael Fassbender, Ian McKellen, James McAvoy and Patrick Stewart, as the two ages of both Magneto and Professor X.
The film is scheduled for release in the UK on 22 May 2014.
