J-Law Skips X-Men: Days Of Future Past UK Premiere
But British stars turn out in force for Leicester Square opening of new blockbuster...
Jennifer Lawrence was conspicuous by her absence at the UK premiere of X-Men: Days Of Future Past last night.
But while J-Law was away filming The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, the British stars of the superhero ensemble movie happily held brollies as they braved the British spring weather in Leicester Square.
Sir Patrick Stewart, Sir Ian McKellen, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender were among the acting talent to turn out - along with a host of fans in fancy dress for a world record attempt.
McAvoy told Sky News: "If it wasn't for the level of support from the fans, we wouldn't be doing these movies and they wouldn't be as big as they are.
"People connect with these stories in such a passionate and committed way that you can't help but have a huge movie born out of that.
"It's an incredible world that these films are set in, full of conflict, full of persecution for people being different. That's a serious basis on which to base good entertainment. It's a true human experience.
"They are not 'super problems' that these super heroes have; they are very human problems and I love being a part of that."
In case you were wondering, it hasn't been confirmed whether the fans managed to break the record for the most people gathered in one place dressed as X-Men characters.
