Writer-producer Simon Kinberg spills the beans on podcast...
The next instalment in the blockbuster X-Men movie franchise will be set in 1983, it has been revealed.
Writer-producer Simon Kinberg let the important nugget of info slip during a chat on Jeff Goldsmith's podcast.
The current X-film, X-Men: Days Of Future Past, is set in 1973 and X-Men: First Class was set in 1962.
And James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult are all set to return for the next film - which is slated for release in May 2016.
Kinberg has previously suggested that some of the original cast - which includes Hugh Jackman, Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen, may also appear in Apocalypse.
The title for the next film is taken from its villain - a powerful and ancient mutant from the Marvel Comics back catalogue.
