Years & Years talk Palo Santo, Memes, Exes And Judi Dench in MTV Exclusive Interview
We sat down for a quick catch-up before their album drops on Friday
Years & Years’ brand new album Palo Santo is coming THIS Friday (the 6th) and it’s safe to say we are SO READY. The singles they've given us so far have each had a tantalisingly different sound from one another, and the fantastic music videos for 'Sanctify' and 'If You're Over Me' have already got us engrossed in the story they're just beginning to tell.
So, we sat down with Olly, Mikey and Emre to find out a little more about what we can expect from the so soon-coming album! Plus, we ended up talking all things music videos, memes, exes and Judi Dench!
WATCH OUR EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH YEARS & YEARS BELOW:
The guys gave us more of a taste of what went into the album behind the scenes - the concepts and inspiration that went into its creation. Plus, we heard more about the direction of the album, with the exciting detail that on the new album "every song is a little bit different".
Olly Alexander told us all about his favourite Years & Years memes (hint: it involves the photo below) and we managed to get some hilarious life advice on staying friends with (or rather not being friends with) your ex.
On top of all that hilarious good-stuff we got more solid deets on Dame Judi Dench's history with Olly Alexander and how she came to work with the boys (which you'll need to watch the above interview to find out) and some ideas of what's still to come with Palo Santo and the accompanying film.
