A YouTuber Was Catfished Into Thinking He Was Having Twins After A One Night Stand
The lies escalated for almost a year.
When Hobbie Stuart posted a video on his YouTube channel with the title ‘My Children Don’t Exist’ you’d be forgiven for thinking that it was clickbait, because that’s just how the internet works now.
Only, much like his original baby announcement video, this wasn’t a ruse to get views at all, but instead a heartbreaking story that he’s been very much living for the past year.

He originally told viewers back in December that he was going to be a dad in just a matter of weeks, and that it’s an unexpected situation he’s found himself in after a one night stand.
After some deliberating it was decided they were going to keep the baby but be in a platonic relationship together, for the sake of their child. But things soon escalated when the woman told him she was actually expecting twins, one boy and a girl.

However everything came falling down when Hobbie uploaded his latest video explaining he wasn’t actually going to be a dad after all, with the woman having lied to him about the entire pregnancy.
Hobbie claims that she’d never been pregnant, telling viewers: “Throughout the pregnancy there was always some kind of reason as to why a scan got cancelled or rescheduled," he said, adding: "I took what she said at face value".
In fact there were a number of lies which he claims she told him, including her mum being dead and her dad dying during the pregnancy, something he of course sympathised with at the time.

But when the due date came around he found himself sitting in a London hospital not knowing if she was even there, later enlisting his friends to help him figure out what had happened.
Eventually it was a trip to her parents (both very much alive) and a reverse Google image search of the scans (which were stolen from someone else’s Flickr) which pointed at the fact that there were no children.
"It was so surreal and deeply disturbing. In my mind I was going to be a dad and I was ready, and I had been thinking about it and preparing for it for most of the year. And then from one day to the next I find out it's all over," Hobbie said.
He insists that he’s not angry towards the woman, who he wishes to keep anonymous, and urges her to get the help that she needs after causing serious stress upon himself and his family.
