Logan Paul Is A ‘Good Guy Who Made A Bad Decision’ According To Logan Paul
The YouTuber has given his first interview since uploading a video of suicide victim.
YouTuber Logan Paul has given an interview with ABC News in which he claims he’s a “good guy who made a bad decision” after uploading a video of a suicide victim in Japan’s Aokigahara forest.
Describing the backlash over the controversial video as being “the hardest time in my life,” the 22-year-old has revealed that he’s been the subject of verbal abuse and multiple death threats in the last month.
Let's get checking out an update from MTV News...
"It's been tough, cause ironically I'm being told to commit suicide myself,” Logan revealed. "Millions of people literally telling me they hate me, to go die in a fire. Like, the most horrible, horrific things."
Logan added that he's still searching for a way to make amends for the video: “I think that reason is so I could take this experience, learn from it, spread the message the right way about suicide prevention and suicide prevention awareness."
The YouTuber has since vowed to donate £750,000 to suicide prevention organisations and has insisted that he will make better decisions going forwards.
"I can, will and am going to learn from it and be a better person. I know I've made mistakes, I know I've let people down. But what happens when you're given an opportunity to help make a difference in the world."
"I've never faced criticism like this before. I'm surrounded by good people and believe I make good decisions, but I'm still a human being."
This comes after Logan faced a second wave of backlash for his apology video, after claiming that he initially uploaded the content to “help raise awareness” of suicide prevention.
At the time, he said: "I intended to raise awareness for suicide and suicide prevention and while I thought 'if this video saves one life, it'll be worth it,' I was misguided by shock and awe.
"I'm often reminded of how big of a reach I truly have and with great power comes great responsibility... for the first time in my life I'm regretful to say I handled that power incorrectly. It won't happen again."
