You Can Now Study How To Become A YouTuber At College
Anyone for a degree in vlogging?
Bored of biology and bamboozled by quadratic equations? Then why not take a college course that will give you a professional qualification in something loads more practical (ahem), like becoming a YouTuber?
Yep, that's a thing that now exists thanks to a new course being offered by City of Glasgow College.
Simply called How To Be A YouTuber/Vlogger, the 10 week adult education course promises to take you through setting up and developing your channel, notable vloggers to use for inspiration, using social media to promote yourself and different video styles.
While you might think that the point of YouTubing is the whole organically growing your own audience thing, you're not wrong. But in a world where there are now so many people trying to vlog, it does seem like a course in the secrets of how to do it like a pro could be helpful.
Instead of traditional lectures, the course will apparently be taught in a computer based environment with camera-enabled computers, which makes sense really, given the topic.
Apparently the course will also be taught by a YouTuber, although who exactly that will be is yet to be confirmed.
You don't need any qualifications to do the course, although it will cost you £150 for the pleasure of becoming the next Zoella or PewDiePie.
But whadda ya reckon - is this an inspired idea or a little like something only you 'cool' uncle Dave would be into? Let us know with a tweet to @MTVUK.
