Former High School Musical hunk Zac Efron is currently down under to promote his new movie The Lucky One, and MTV Australia caught up with him last night (Monday April 9) in Sydney for an exclusive chat at the World Premiere.
The Lucky One sees Efron play a US Marine Sergeant, and to prepare for the role the star had to endure some gruelling military training to beef up.
The results are pretty impressive, but will he be able to keep up the training without a marine shouting at him?
Zac's going to try, saying:
"Without a doubt, yeah. I’ve been trying to. I can’t do it to the full extent that I was doing it for the movie 'cause that’s gruelling and very, very intense, but I’ll never forget the principles I was taught by the trainers."
The heartthrob puts his new bod to good use in the film in some steamy love scenes, but despite his physique he revealed he's still not comfortable watching himself strip off on-screen, saying:
"I’ve only seen a rough cut of the film, but at the end of that thing I was squirming. I was at the bottom of my seat, like, ‘Arghhh!’
"And they’re like, ‘Where did you go Zac?’ and I’m like, ‘I’m on the floor, is it over? Is it over?’"
We're pretty sure Efron's fans won't have the same reaction when they see the film, which opens in the UK on May 2.
