Following the birth of Kate Middleton and Prince William's son Zara Phillips has welcomed a baby girl.

According to Sky News, Phillips and hubby, England rugby star Mike Tindall, welcomed their daughter today at Gloucester Royal Hospital (January 17) - with the tot weighing 7lbs 12oz.

Buckingham Palace confirmed that Tindall was present at the birth, saying in a statement: "Mrs Michael Tindall today safely delivered a baby girl at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

"Mr Tindall was present at the birth. The weight of the baby was 7lbs 12oz."

They added: "The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Princess Royal, Captain Mark Phillips and Mike’s parents, Mr Phillip and Mrs Linda Tindall, have been informed and are delighted with the news."

The Queen's Press Secretary added that the baby girl's name will be announced in due course.
