Fan Account Of The Week: @ZaynReport

Introducing our new weekly feature where YOU'RE the star!

There are so many INCREDIBLE fan accounts we follow on Twitter, so we think it’s time we celebrate your hard work with our Fan Account of the Week!

We’re giving the first accolade to @ZaynReport, an ama-ZAYN fan account run by Camilla (owner), a 17-year-old student from Rome, Italy, as well as Angela, 17, in her final year of high school from Australia and Tubaa, 18, who attends college in New York City. A truly international effort!

How long have you been a fan of ZAYN?

CAMILLA: I started following Zayn when I was 12 and I'm now 17, so I'd say that I've been a fan of him since forever!

ANGELA: I've been a fan of Zayn since around 2011/2012 so around 5 years!

TUBAA: I've been a fan of Zayn since 2011! Loved him since the first time I watched What Makes You Beautiful.

So, why are you a fan of ZAYN?

CAMILLA: I'm a fan of Zayn because he simply makes me happy. He makes me a better person and he helps me whenever I'm feeling down. His music and his voice are the most powerful cure I must admit! He's truly an incredible human being. He inspires me so much every single day, he's talented, amazing, humble, brave and generous, but most importantly he's REAL to himself. He doesn't care about what people think about him as long as he feels free to express himself the way he wants to, which is something I totally agree with and admire.

He's not afraid to stand up for himself and his beliefs. He's not afraid to speak up his mind. It's not easy nowadays to give a good example. Most celebrities do weird stuff to be in the spotlight and become more successful, but that's something Zayn would NEVER do. He teaches his fans to enjoy the simple things in life and to appreciate everything they have. He loves art and encourages his fans to be creative and positive all the time. He taught me to believe in my dreams, to believe in myself and to be confident, which is something that I will never be able to thank him enough for. He's truly my lifesaver. Also, he's one of the nicest people on earth, he's caring and always makes sure to give all he's got to make his fans and loved ones happy/proud. He's just incredible. There are no words to describe him. I would simply describe him as 'Zayn'.

ANGELA: He's brilliantly talented to say the least. He's not afraid to do what he wants and he does it to satisfy no one but himself, which is something you can rarely find in artists nowadays. He's proud of the person he is whilst also being so humble and he makes us (the fans) feel important, always thanking us for being there for him. He is just so real to himself and to us.

TUBAA: Not only is Zayn an amazing singer, he's an amazing person as well. I think the best part is knowing Zayn appreciates just as much as we appreciate him. There are many celebritiesthat don't reach out to fans but Zayn is always following and noticing fan art and edits.

How much time do you devote to being a fan of ZAYN/running this account?

CAMILLA: I would describe myself as a REALLY dedicated fan because I literally put so much effort in everything I do. ZaynReport isn't a simple fan account to me, it's the means by which I'm finally able to repay Zayn for everything that he's done for me. He's completely changed my life, and thanks to my account, he finally knows that I exist! Promoting his music is also a big part of what I do, which is something that I absolutely love doing!

Also, my account gives me the opportunity to connect with other fans and help them whenever they need anything, as well as getting something trending to make Zayn happy for example. That's my biggest goal to be honest! I usually spend 6-7 hours online and check the news every 10 minutes!

ANGELA: 25/8.

TUBAA: You can say that being a fan of Zayn is a full time job. The amount of time I spend running the account varies on what Zayn has been up to but I think I spend an average of 3-4 hours on ZaynReport daily, not including the time when I'm scrolling through Twitter looking for updates and thinking about ways to make the account better.

He retweeted you the other day! How exciting was that?!

CAMILLA: When he noticed me I almost passed away. I simply couldn't believe it. I couldn't stop staring at my phone. I wasn't shouting or crying, I was like IN SHOCK. I couldn't even type or speak. I thought I was dead at first to be honest. It literally took me over 45 minutes to be able to even simply tell my mom about it. It's been days but I still cannot believe it and honestly I don't think I ever will. It just doesn't feel real.

But I must admit that it's the most amazing feeling in the world. I wish every fan could get that feeling at least once in a lifetime! Every fan deserves
to know that the person they love the most actually appreciates them and loves them back.

ANGELA: It was crazy! It never will sink in but it makes you feel like all the work has paid off, and it only motivates you to want to keep doing what you're doing!

TUBAA: It was very exciting! It's honestly a great feeling and I really don't think anything else compares. Whenever Zayn notices us in any way, it makes spending all the time on Twitter worth it. Even though I would have spent all this time either way. It's also very exciting how all three of us are freaking out and texting each other afterwards.

Have you met him in person?

CAMILLA: Unfortunately I never got to meet him in person. I guess that if I did, I wouldn't be alive right now. But I won't lose hope because good things happen to those who wait and Zayn noticing my account is a proof so I will keep supporting him no matter what and patiently waiting for my turn to come!

ANGELA: I haven't met him in person (sadly). Though it's probably one of the biggest things I could ever hope for, just so I could thank him for everything he's done. But with where I live, it's slightly difficult. Last year I actually went backstage at one of the OTRA gigs but sadly didn't get to meet him. I'm hoping when I head over to London in June that I'll have a chance!

TUBAA: I unfortunately have not met him in person yet but hopefully I'll be able to soon! He's always in NYC so I'm really hoping I'll be able to run into him one day.

Have you ever seen him perform live with One Direction?

CAMILLA: Yes I did! I saw him live 4 times. I had to travel a lot and even though I wasn't that rich I got the opportunity to see him, that's something I'm still very grateful for. I saw him in London & Verona (Italy) in 2013 for the Take Me Home tour and twice at the San Siro Stadium in Milan (Italy) in June 2014 for the Where We Are tour!

ANGELA: I've seen him in Brisbane (October 19th-20th 2013, February 11th 2015) and Melbourne (February 14th 2015) and honestly, all times were incredible. There's a massive build up to the concert because you wait so long, and when you get there you, it's quite surreal? I don't think I will ever come close to the experience I had at the Melbourne gig - it was truly unbelievable.

TUBAA: Yes! I saw him during UAN at beacon theater and WWA at MetLife stadium. It's an amazing feeling being able to see him in person after years of looking at pictures only. He's an amazing performer and I can't wait until he'll tour so I can see him once again!

Are you happy that he’s finally doing his own thing?

CAMILLA: I'm not gonna lie, when I first heard the news that he was leaving One Direction I was in shock. I couldn't believe it. But I've literally never stopped supporting him. I wasn't mad, I wasn't even disappointed. I was just mad at myself because I didn't notice how bad he was feeling about the whole situation. It took me a few days to get emotionally over it, but in my heart I guess I always knew that it was gonna happen and honestly all I care about is his happiness so it's all fine as long as he's doing ok.

He put his fans' happiness before his own for 5 years so theleast we can do right now is be happy for him! I honestly couldn't be any prouder of him. He'sgone so far and I'm sure this is only the beginning! Can't wait for what is next, there's much more to come for sure!

ANGELA: I'm definitely happy that he's doing what he wants and loves, and you can tell that he's a lot happier as well. At the start when we heard the news he was leaving, it was certainly hard to take in, but everything worked out okay in the end so there's nothing to complain about really!

TUBAA: I always thought it would be an amazing thing for him go on his own. Even though I loved him in the band, I always wanted to hear what it would sound like if he was doing his own thing solo because as most people would think, there were times when it was clear he wasn't enjoying himself as much as the others.

What are you expecting from his debut album Mind of Mine released today?

CAMILLA: I'm expecting to get to know the real Zayn, all his thoughts and emotions. We'll get to know what paradise feels like actually. A whole album with Zayn vocals... honestly I still need to get used to it because it just sounds weird I never thought this moment would come but HEY I'VE NEVER BEEN SO READY IN MY LIFE (Also, I expect quite a nice amount of high notes!)

ANGELA: I'm expecting it to be one thing, but so far everything he's released has surprised me in one way or another. So I'm kind of open to whatever but I'm definitely keen for some of The Weeknd inspired tunes.

TUBAA: I'm expecting to get a taste of what he's been deprived of during the past few years. We'll finally be able to hear all the music he's been wanting to make but wasn't able to during his time in One Direction. We'll be able to hear a style that we've never heard from Zayn before which is really exciting.

Which is your fave solo song so far, and why?

CAMILLA: I would probably say It's You or Befour even though I absolutely ADORE Like I Would andPILLOWTALK. Actually they're all different but I guess they're my favorites so far because they're quite more personal to me. Cannot wait to listen to the rest of the album though!

ANGELA: Befour! It's definitely the track that's come closest to my expectations of what Zayn's music would sound like. It's mellow but it's got a sick beat to it as well and his vocals are just killer (talk about that high note though).

TUBAA: My favorite solo song so far is It's You because it has a lot of emotion in it and I think his voice is amazing for music like this. However, I think PILLOWTALK will always be a special song since it was the first solo song we heard.

'Mind of Mine' is released the same day he left One Direction a year ago – do you think he’s doing that to make some kind of statement?

CAMILLA: All of us by this time last year were crying and felt like the whole world was falling apart. It was probably the worst day in One Direction fans' history. But I guess that was one of the most important days to Zayn and that's why he wanted to make it a good one for his fans as well. From now on March 25th will only be considered as an incredible day to celebrate, the day Zayn fans have been blessed!

ANGELA: I think there may be some low-key intention behind it but nothing that's meant to cause conflict in any way.

TUBAA: I think of the day he left 1D as the day he was finally able to break free and become himself, so now he wants us to see the real him and that's why he made it the release date as well. It's a special date to himself and others, therefore it makes sense for him to release it on this date.

How devastated were you when he left One Direction?

CAMILLA: I was absolutely devastated. At first I thought I would've never seen him again. That day I was also getting ready to go to London for a school trip, I was so excited for it but when I heard the news I wanted to be left alone. He was my favorite in the band and I was also looking forward to seeing him perform live again in Brussels so I just couldn't stop crying, my mom actually was a little bit worried for me. It took me a few months to get over it. It still feels weird to me at times. Watching old pictures/videos still makes me quite sad but I'm way too excited for his new music and I can't wait for him to go on tour and have his own successful career!

ANGELA: Very. It was really frustrating as well in the beginning few months. We didn't know what he was doing and why he did it. A lot of things were unanswered and I guess we were looking for some reassurance that he was okay and that that wasn't going to be the last we'd see of him. It's kind of a blur now though.

TUBAA: I was very devastated when he left 1D, I didn't know if he was going to be doing his own music, so I was terrified that I might never see him or hear him sing again. However, seeing him this happy now, I'm extremely grateful he left the band.

#Zigi or #Zerrie?

CAMILLA: I've honestly never really cared that much about his personal life, I mean of course I know everything he does (since I actually run an update account) but I try to concentrate on his music and Zayn as an artist rather than Zayn as someone else's boyfriend. Perrie and Gigi are gorgeous, they're both fine to me as long as they treat him well, that's all I'm asking for!

ANGELA: #SingleZayn (but whatever makes him happy is cool).

TUBAA: As long as Zayn is happy, I'm happy! :) Both Gigi and Perrie are extremely talented and gorgeous.

What’s the best thing about being part of the #Zquad?

CAMILLA: The best thing is definitely being blessed by Zayn's incredible vocals. Zayn stans are the luckiest I swear. But I also love how we all stand up to defend our favorite person, we're all so loyal and dedicated, it's amazing the way we all take care of him and protect him as if he was our son!

ANGELA: It's really easy to be able to talk to each other since a lot of us have similar interests and it's just cool to be able experience everything Zayn's done together. It's not something that you can usually do with people 'in real life' so social media is really the fundamental behind the #Zquad.

TUBAA: The best part about being a part of the Zquad is making so many friends. I've met so many people on Twitter that I've instantly clicked with and it’s so upsetting knowing that if it wasn't for Zayn, I wouldn't have known them. Everyone is very understanding and helpful in matters non-Zayn related.

Are there any other Zayn fan accounts you follow and recommend?

CAMILLA: I would say @zjmprojects because they're helping fans who can't afford to buy the album, which isabsolutely amazing! Lots of people have been donating, it's incredible how generous Zayn fans are!!

ANGELA: @ZJMProjects is a definite!

TUBAA: There are too many to mention!
