Zayn Malik Reckons He 'Never Wanted To Be In One Direction' In First Solo On Camera Interview
Following the news that Zayn Malik has unceremoniously cancelled his first solo TV appearance on The Graham Norton Show, he's now announced he's got a Beats 1 interview to gift to the world.
Seemingly more into Bradford football stadiums full of invisible people, he's had a lovely sit down with Zane Lowe... Instead of being in the company of Ryan Reynolds in a warm studio. Whyyyy.
But the teaser isn't exactly an ode to the band that allowed him to launch his solo career, instead acting as the prime opportunity for him to tell everyone what he really thought of One Direction.
"I never really wanted to be there, really, in the band," he began.
"I just gave it a go because it was there at the time and when I realised the direction we were going in with the music I instantly realised it wasn't for me.
"I realised I couldn't put any input it. I couldn't give my opinion on this or that because it didn't fit the grain of what we were or what we represented and that's when it became frustrating for me," Zayn admitted.
Everyone stay calm.
The full interview will broadcast during Zane Lowe’s show today, January 28th, at 5pm UK/ 9am PT/ 12p ET on Beats 1.
