Zayn Malik Pulled Out Of Capital FM’s Summertime Ball Because Of ‘Crippling Anxiety’
We're sending Zayn loads of love.
Fans who’d practically camped out to see Zayn Malik give his debut UK performance at yesterday’s Capital FM Summertime Ball (Saturday 11th June) were instead greeted by the voice of one person explaining that Zayn had sadly pulled out of his appearance at the last minute due to illness.
However, soon after the sad announcement was made, Zayn took to social media to apologise to fans and speak openly and honestly about how the anxiety that has been 'haunting him' had ‘gotten the better of him’.
In a statement, he wrote: “I flew into the UK last night to appear in my home country in front of my family, friends, and most importantly my UK fans.
“Unfortunately my anxiety that has haunted me throughout the last few months around live performances has gotten the better of me... With the magnitude of the event, I have suffered the worst anxiety of my career.
“I cannot apologise enough but I want to be honest with everyone who has patiently waited to see me, I promise I will do my best to make this up to everyone I've let down today.
“I know those who suffer with anxiety will understand and I hope those who don't can empathise with my situation.”
Fans have since been sending Zayn thousands of lovely messages of support, and have thanked him for being so honest.
We’re sending him loads of love, and hope he’s feeling much better soon.
