Zayn Malik Reveals He Slept On Nothing But A Mattress For Six Months As He Addresses His Anxiety Battle
Minimalist Zayn doesn't believe in bed frames.
Former One Direction bandmate Zayn Malik might have raked in some seriously big bucks throughout his career, but the singer has revealed he slept on nothing more than a mattress in an empty room for six whole months. Why you ask? because he 'liked the way it felt'.
In a video shot behind the scenes of his Vogue cover shoot with gf Gigi Hadid, the singer opened up about his minimalist lifestyle as well as his ongoing struggle with anxiety, which has prevented him from ever performing live as a solo artist in Britain.
The heartthrob said of his LA pad: "When I first moved here, I was sleeping on a mattress for six months. I didn't really want to do anything to it because I liked the way it felt felt minimalistic and simple. There was really nothing to hold on to."
Zayn's not the greatest lover of bed frames then, we just hope he at least invested in a fitted sheet because that would be kinda gross.
The singer, who's struggle with anxiety has been highly publicised, admitted that he's not the biggest fan of large social situations either, he said: "I'm not a very outgoing social person in terms of big groups of people."
"I feel like i'm always trying to work through certain issues around certain subjects. For me personally I think it comes from a place of not ever wanting to come across as an over arrogant person or a person that takes themselves too seriously." added the star.
Fortunately though Zayn has promised that fans will get to see a lot more of him in the near future, he said: "When we're ready to put the second album out, people are going to start seeing me a bit more."
"I'm excited to see what people think because it's been a year since I've properly shown my face."
A year too bloody long. We can't wait for Zayn Malik to be unleashed again!
