Zayn Malik has kept us waiting for his second album and it looks like he's taking some more time with it.

In reality it's actually been less than two years since the ex-One Directioner dropped his debut album and emerged from The X Factor group as a sensual R&B force to be reckoned with.

However, he kicked off his second album campaign in May with the lush 'Still Got Time', followed by the massive single 'Dusk Till Dawn', and has been keeping us guessing ever since.

Fans worried that the album was still in the recording stages when Zayn uploaded a photo from the studio earlier today, however it now seems that it's for a separate project.

The 'Pillowtalk' singer shared a photo - captioned "studio" - of something in the studio with a snake drawn over it, and mega-prodcer DJ Snake's reaction has us all at the edge of our seats.

DJ Snake, who co-produced Major Lazer's 'Lean On' and released the Bieber-assisted banger 'Let Me Love You' in 2016, commented a classic snake emoji, hinting that he was in the studio with Zayn.

Is this collaboration for Zayn's album? A one-off DJ Snake single? We have no idea, although our bet would be on the latter.

From the few details Zayn has confirmed, we believe that Z2 will build on the R&B soundscape of Mind Of Mine so it may not be the best place for a major banger with DJ Snake to appear.

We know that the heartthrob has been working with Malay, Timbaland and even has a collaboration with Nicki Minaj on there.
