Zendaya Accepts Giuliana Rancic’s Apology As Sharon Osbourne Weighs In
The 18-year-old actress responds with grace to Giuliana’s on-air apology…
Zendaya Coleman has taken to Instagram again, this time to accept Giuliana Rancic’s apology, after the Fashion Police host addressed her in an on-air E! News bulletin.
“Body shaming and other hurtful tactics will never get the job done. As hard as it was to stop MYSELF from being ignorant and from posting the first mean words that came to my mind because I was hurt, I had to think about the bigger picture,” wrote the 18-year-old Disney star.
“Instead I sat for two hours on my phone, doing my research and formulating an educated response.
“Giuliana, I appreciate your apology and I’m glad it was a learning experience for you and for the network. I hope that others negatively affected by her words can also find it in their hearts to accept her apology as well.”
Rancic’s TV apology came after the 40-year-old suggested Zendaya’s dreadlocks would smell like “patchouli or weed” during the Fashion Police Oscars special.
Speaking on her own TV show, The Talk, Mrs O said, "I think that her apology was very sincere…We all make mistakes on TV. I put my foot in my mouth so many times. She fessed up…She owned it…I shouldn't talk for Kelly. She's a 30-year-old woman, but at the time that the show was aired, people were saying that it was Kelly and Giuliana.
“So Kelly was getting a lot of hate tweets and it was badly reported on social media…she just said, 'Hey, not me, don't pull me into this.' Zendaya is a friend of Kelly's and she never would condone that. We all make mistakes. She's learned from hers. Now, maybe now I'll learn from mine."
Next move’s yours, Kelly O!
