Dakota Culkin, the sister of actors Macaulay and Kieran Culkin, has died after being hit by a car on Tuesday.

According to reports the sister of the Home Alone star stepped out in front of a car in Los Angeles.

Dakota who was just 29-years-old, was taken to UCLA Medical Centre suffering from serious head injuries and sadly died a day later (Wednesday 10/12/08).

Reports claim that the driver of the vehicle stopped and tried to help Culkin but not much more is known as police are still investigating the case.

Macaulay Culkin's spokeswoman, Michelle Bega, said, "We can officially confirm that the victim is Dakota Culkin. This is a terrible tragic accident. We have no further comment at this time."
