One Direction star Louis Tomlinson and BBC Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw have become involved in a bit of a spat on Twitter.

The exchange kicked off when Louis, who is currently on tour in Australia with his bandmates, tweeted his frustration yesterday (October 7) that the lads couldn't leave their hotel due to the presence of the paparazzi, whom he labeled "tw*ts."

Grimmers later appeared to reference the tweet on his radio show, saying: "I love a complainy popstar. It's my favourite thing.

"All complainy. 'I can't go outside because I'm famous'. Mask. I'm gonna wear a [Radio 1 producer Matt] Fincham mask. If you're gonna go outside, Psy mask."

Although Grimshaw never called Louis out by name, the 1D star's girlfriend Eleanor Calder then weighed in, tweeting a fan who said they "never liked Grimmy" with the response "Me neither!"

Tomlinson himself then got involved, tweeting Nick Grimshaw to suggest that former Radio 1 Breakfast Show host Chris Moyles was a better DJ.

If that wasn't enough, Grimmers seemed to refer to the burgeoning feud this morning, writing: "Ooh Stacey got out the wrong side of bed this morning"

And fellow One Direction singer Zayn Malik apparently added his two cents a few hours ago, writing the following cryptic message: "Don't know why people always have to get brave ? Mind your own business :)"

One person who has kept very quiet throughout the whole exchange however is Louis and Nick's close mutual pal Harry Styles, whose only tweet since the spat began reads: "Shania Twain is so good."
