One Direction star Harry Styles has shocked fans by debuting a new hairdo!

The 20-year old heartthrob - who is famous for his luscious curly locks - seemed to be trying out a more messy look on the South American leg of 1D's Where We Are world tour, which kicked off in Columbia on Friday (April 25).

Directioners have Hazza's hairdresser Lou Teasdale to thank for the posting the pic, which shows Styles wearing his hair matted and in a side-parting, compared to his usual curly quiff.

She simply captioned the snap "#indie", implying that Harry is trying out a more rocker-type 'do.

Fans of the You And I singer were quick to compliment Styles on his new er, style, with one writing: "He's so perfect I can't handle this anymore."

Another thanked Teasdale for sharing the image, writing: "LOU THIS IS WHY I LOVE YOU."
