That New Rita Ora Album Is One Step Closer As She Signs Worldwide Record Deal With Atlantic

GO RITA!

Rita Ora signed a worldwide record deal with Atlantic Records last night (20th June).

"Music is my first love and I am looking forward to getting my new songs released," Ora announced. "I'm thankful to my new Atlantic Records family for all their support and encouragement."

This news record deal is set to be a fresh start for the singer. In December 2015, we reported that Ora had filed a lawsuit against JayZ’s Roc Nation label, claiming that her contract was ‘unenforceable’. If there’s one person you don’t want to piss off – it’s Jay-Z. A month later, Roc Nation sued Rita right back for £1.6 million because she’s hadn’t fulfilled her side of the deal.

Ora is yet to release the follow-up to her 2012 debut, 'Ora'. Although, of course, she has been 'fairly' active in the years following, including a stint as a judge on the X Factor and releasing tracks such as ‘Poison’ and the Chris Brown collab last year, ‘Body On Me’.

"Rita is a rare talent and true global star," added Ben Cook, President of Atlantic Records UK, "We look forward to getting in the studio with her and making an incredible album."

Posting on Instagram, Ora described how she was looking forward to the future of her music career: "The next chapter is going to be incredible!"

Good luck from all of us at MTV, Rita.
