Together with Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Mel B, Simon Cowell has made The X Factor must-watch TV again this year - but it seems that he might not be sticking around.

The Sun has quoted the music mogul as casting doubt on his return to the show for 2015.

He said: "There's another show that I will be on in America — a new one, which we've been working on for a few months.

"Next year we'll have a minimum of four shows on US networks."

SiCo returned to the UK show this year following the cancellation of The X Factor USA, but obviously hasn't given up on the American dream.

However he's still excited about this year's series of the UK show - despite losing his contestant Stevi Ritchie on Sunday.

"As long as Fleur and Ben are in there, we'll have a proper final — where you just don't know who's gonna win," he declared.

"I love that idea."
