Chris Martin reportedly struck a photographer with his car over the weekend.

The hairy moment occurred when the Coldplay star was leaving the E Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica, striking the paparazzo with his Jeep.

TMZ - who has obtained photos of the incident - reports that Martin was with estranged wife Gwyneth Paltrow and their children Apple and Moses.

It is thought the snapper approached the True Lovesinger's car andtried to take a pic of the family.

The photographer later claimed he was hit by the car and an ambulance was called, with snaps on TMZ showing him on a stretcher.

However, the website adds that there is something fishy about the accident as there was another paparazzo acrossthe streetcatching the events unfold, adding that photographers never usually stand over the road from that eatery.

Martin is yet to comment on the episode.
