Most people would probably try to get Ed Sheeran to sing at their wedding if they were mates with the British pop sensastion.

But former Friends actress Courteney Cox is reported to have asked the ginger pop ninja to be an usher at her marriage to Snow Patrol star Johnny McDaid.

The 23-year-old, currently No 1 on the Official UK Albums Chart, is close friends with Johnny and Courteney - and The Sun claims that he was an instant choice as usher.

A source said: "She has never been happier. And even though it's her second marriage, she would like people important to her to be there.

"Not only is Ed great mates with Johnny, he is a close friend of Courteney's.

"Ed said yes immediately when asked. Johnny's other best pal, singer Foy Vance, is also an usher. It's between him and Ed for best man — they'll probably share it."

The wedding is expected to take place in Ireland later this year - with a follow-on bash back in California.
