Ed Sheeran Originally Wrote Shape Of You For Little Mix

He also considered giving it to Rihanna.

If Shape Of You has been going around and around your head for the past month or so, you might be interested to hear that it very nearly sounded quite different asEd Sheeran's revealed that he originally started writing the song with the intention of giving it to Little Mix.

But in the end the track, which let's just all agree right nowis catchier than an STI on the Magaluf strip, was so good that Ed couldn't resist keeping it for himself.

If you've seen his cover of Touch, then you no doubt already knew that Ed is a bigLittle Mix fan. But unfortunately for them, not even his fanboy status ended up getting him to give up the track.

Chatting to BeBox about writing the song, which has been right up there at the top of the charts since its release, Ed explains: “We started it [the song] for Little Mix originally and then kinda like half way through I was actually like this sounds like Rihanna, it could be good for Rihanna and then more of the way through, we were like yeah, this is actually pretty good.

“We should keep it.”

Fingers crossed we'll get an Ed-penned track from Little Mix at some point because HOW GREAt would that be?But at least in the mean time we can make do with Little Mix's own stuff,Ed'snew album andthe songs he's written for One Direction, Rixton, Justin Bieber, Olly Murs and...well, the list goes on and on. And on a bit more.
