The 40-year-old star of Mad Men - which is coming back to our screens in just over two weeks - used an interview with Elle magazine to get things off his chest.
He said: "We're at a place where the idea of being 'elite' is somehow considered a negative.
"Whether it's Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated. Being a f***ing idiot is certainly a valuable commodity in this culture because you're rewarded significantly."

Jon - who plays Don Draper in the acclaimed show - also explained that he was unlikely to be heading up the aisle with his long-term girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt any time soon.
Asked if they had considered marriage after being together for 15 years, he replied: "The flip answer is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
"Having a piece of paper serves to remind you of your commitment, but we do a pretty good job of reminding each other."
