Tyler The Creator Responds To Jaden Smith's Claims He's His 'Boyfriend'
Let’s hold up here for a hot minute. Jaden Smith has just called Tyler, The Creator his boyfriend on stage, but are they really a couple or is it a hoax?
The situation started when Jaden, talking to the crowd, said: “I just wanna say Tyler, The Creator is the best friend in the world.”
“And I love him so f***ing much, and I wanna tell you guys something, I wanna tell you, Tyler doesn’t wanna say, but Tyler is my motherf***ing boyfriend,” he added.
Tyler could be seen in the crowd waving his hands back and forth in a ‘no I’m not’ kind of gesture while laughing at Jaden and removing his face mask.
Then taking to Twitter, Jaden tweeted: “Yup @tylerthecreator I Told Everyone You Can’t Deny It Now [sic].”
Hours later Tyler responded with the comment: "hahaha you a crazy n**** man,"but neitherconfirmednor denied the claims.
This comes after Tyler has faced heavy criticism for his use of homophobic slurs in his music, yet lyrics on his 2017 album Flower Boy suggest that he might identify as gay, bior pansexual – he may have an interest in men, basically.
In ‘I Ain’t Got Time’, he raps: “Next line will have ’em like, “Whoa” / I’ve been kissing white boys since 2004.”
Then during an interview in 2015 withRolling Stone, Tyler said that he would “100% go gay for ’96 Leo,” and he once posted a picture of the actor from his role in Romeo and Juliet with the words “yes boyfriend yes.”
Not only that (yep, there’s more), the rapper also tweeted out that he had previously tried to come out but everyone ignored him.
If it's true, welcome to the world of celebrity whirlwind romances. But if it's not? What was said could be harmful, especially with the ongoing stigma surrounding homosexuality in music and hip hop.
Also being attracted to '96 Leo just means you're human, let's be real here.
