Kylie Minogue is backing sister Dannii to return to The X Factor.

Despite now appearing on rival BBC show The Voice, Kylie said she would love to see Dannii back on the X Factor judging panel alongside Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole, reports The Sun.

She told the paper: “Dannii has done so well on X Factor Australia, she won it with her artist. She’s got better and better and this year, in the words of Louis Walsh, she nailed it! So yes, I would like to see her back.

“I think I’m with the whole country when I say the show has been missing her and Simon and Cheryl. It would be very exciting to see them back.”

X Factor boss and new dad Simon Cowell has reportedly been in talks with Cheryl Cole to return to the panel in a bid to boost ratings for the ITV series.

Olly Murs is also being tipped to join the new series in a move that would see Cheryl become the only female on the panel.

A return from Dannii could prove awkward following claims that she had a fling with Simon Cowell during her original stint as an X Factor judge.
