Jay-Z "Scarred" By Father's Absence
Jay-Zhas spoken about becoming a dad for the first time, stating he plans to be a better parent than his own absent father.
The Empire State Of Mind rapper, who is [uuid=1318d315-30bb-43b7-a762-8658af997e97]expecting a baby girl[/uuid] with wife Beyoncé, has told GQ magazine that his dad leaving when he was younger has been more painful than not having him in his life at all.
Speaking in the publication's upcoming Men of the Year issue, Jigga explained: "If your dad died before you were born, yeah, it hurts — but it’s not like you had a connection with something that was real."
He continued: “My dad was such a good dad that when he left, he left a huge scar. I bet [my dad] didn’t believe he’d spaz out and leave, either.”
Beyoncé has previously admitted that she thinks Jay is going to be a great dad, telling Closer magazine: "Of course he will be a good father. His music has inspired millions of people over the last two decades, but he inspires the people around him on a more personal level too."
Queen B added: "He's an inspirational artist, friend and husband and his next step is to be an inspirational father. He's everything you could ask for in a husband and friend."
