They were one of the coolest couples in celebland, but unfortunately Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy have called time on their relationship.

The Hollywood actress and the Muse singer had been together for more than four years and had a son together in 2011 - but it has now emerged that they parted ways a while ago.

"Kate and Matt have been separated for some time now," Bellamy's rep confirmed to E! News. "Despite this, they remain very close friends and committed co-parents."

Their split comes as something of a surprise to celeb watchers, because they were snapped together looking perfectly happy as recently as last month.

They are also thought to have spent Thanksgiving together.
