Mysterious Secret Message Reveals New Bayonetta Game On The Way
Gold stars and rainbow unicorns to those of you brave enough to venture onto the internet over the weekend; it’s hard enough to decipher what’s real and what isn’t without April Fool’s Day on Saturday, right?!
However, sometimes there’s a nugget of truth hidden in the jokes, and that’s precisely what we think has happened with a little prank played by Sega.
If you’ve never played it, Bayonetta is an awesome action game starring a sexy-as-heck witch of the same name. Over the weekend, Sega released a free, fully-playable Bayonetta game on Steam, called - unsurprisingly - 8-Bit Bayonetta, complete with it’s own Steam achievements. On closer inspection by curious fans, the freebie game offered enough clues to drive clever people to a mysterious landing page on Sega.com.
On the page is nothing except a countdown (which expires on April 10 or 11, depending upon where you are in the world), and the title “Coming Soon”. Some are also reporting that if you turn your brightness up to 11, you should be able to see a Bayonetta promo image on the background.
So what could this mean? Is the fact the teaser released on Steama clue that we may see one or both of the Bayonetta games on PC *at last*? Or is this finally confirmation that a third game is on its way? Only one thing for it, I guess… we’ll have to wait 8 days, 2 hours and 34 minutes (at the time of writing!) to find out.
