Simon Cowell Is Looking For The Next One Direction

Talent show tycoon issues appeal for Latino boy band auditions...

Simon Cowell is continuing his quest for world pop domination by targeting the enormous Latino market in the Americas.

The music mogul has appealed for would-be singers aged 14 and over to try out for La Banda - a series he's masterminding on US Spanish-language channel Univision.

He tweeted: "Auditions now open to be part of the ultimate Latino boyband. If you know someone who could be a star? Go here http://labandaoficial.com

"The show airs on Univision this September. This show could give someone the chance of a lifetime. And you know dreams really can come true!"

And he later added: "Me complace anunciar que las audiciones para formar parte del nuevo boyband latino están abiertas. ¡Inscríbete ya! "

Don't buy a plane ticket just yet though, however good your Spanish is, because hopefuls must live in the United States or Puerto Rico.

The winners will land a contract with Syco Music and Sony Music Latin.
